Michael G. Anderson
MD, FAAP

Michael G. Anderson, MD, FAAP, an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics, is also a dad with two daughters. Previously, the Chairman of Pediatrics at a university teaching hospital, a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Anderson founded the Children's Pediatric Center and modeled it after the children's care from one of the Nation's Top Five children's specialty hospitals, The University of Michigan - CS Mott Children's Hospital. At a Children's Hospital, care is focused solely around the child, for some the most seriously ill in that region: premature babies less than 1 pound to the 21-year-old young athletes with asthma. Children's Pediatric Center is noted for its interest in total pediatric care focused on both the needs of the infant, child, and family. That is why the Children's Center has an educational focus for parents with newborn infants through the first two years of life. With older children, The Children's Center sucessfully treats asthma and allergy, as well as infectious diseases. Dr. Anderson helped elite University of Michigan atheletes with asthma participate in extreme sports from SCUBA to College Football. The Children's Center is also noted for its care of newborn babies, children's constipation and stomach problems, ADHD, adolescent medicine, and maternal-child issues generally.

The founder of the Children's Center, Dr. Anderson, brings National expertise as reported in the the New York Times Magazine NY Times, Sunday April 18, 2004. Dr. Anderson is a frequently invited speaker at the various University Hospitals Grand Rounds, Medical College of Georgia Children's Hospital, The University of Nebraska Children's Hospital, The Illinois College of Emergency Physicians, The University of Michigan Children's Hospital, University of Illinois Hospital, The Infectious Disease Society of America, and The American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Emergency Care. Dr. Anderson's research on medical ethics is included in the Michigan's research symposium, and published in National Pediatric Journals.

Most recently, many parents in the Canton and Sixes Road area enjoy Dr. Anderson's monthly pediatric column in the Around Canton, North Georgia Living and Sixes Living magazines. Patients of Children's Pediatric Center have the confidence that comes from years of highly credentialed experience: a cum laude graduate from Northwestern University; and highest honors from a Master's Degree, as well as various awards from college. Dr. Anderson maintains his faculty appointments as an Assoicate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics.

Dr. Anderson maintains priviledges at the Northside Hospitals and Scottish Rite Children's Hospital. As a teacher for pediatrician's in training, you will find Dr. Anderson treating his patients in the Emergency Department, on the Pediatric Hospital Ward, or in the Delivery Room with a new baby. Many parents are relieved to meet their own Dr. Anderson, whether in the ER or Hospital bedside. Even for the occasional patient that needs a teritary care Children's Hospital, Dr. Anderson will continue to provide care and guidance for the family along with the network of his colleagues at Scottish Rite.

Stephanie H. Anderson, ND, RN, CS, is a mom of two little girls, and also a pediatric and women's nurse practitioner. The Children's Pediatric Center enthusiastically notes that Stephanie brings an expanded ability to care for patients in close coordination to her husband, Dr. Anderson. With energy, enthusiasm, and maturity, Moms and young women find Stephanie's care both sensitive and professional. Stephanie is individually board certified in Pediatric, Adult, and Women's Health , and is an adjunct Assistant Professor of the UIC College of Nursing. Stephanie received her Doctor of Nursing degree from Rush University in Chicago. She also received dual Bachelor degrees in both Nursing and Family Sciences. With a shared special mission, Stephanie joins her husband physician at Children's Pediatric Center to care together for their patients. Stephanie says that she loves her work and its people.

Stephanie has also worked and trained at a number of well known national facilities including the University of Michigan Hospital and Northwestern University Hospital. She has been director of a university student health center and has been a nationally invited speaker on women's health issues. Stephanie's abilities allow her to provide excellent and tender care over an expansive range of pediatric and family health issues. The Anderson Family located the Children's Pediatric Center in beautful Canton, Cherokee County, Georgia, in close proximity to their extensive family members in Cobb and North Fulton Counties of Georgia.
